    It's all about vaccination rates. Public hospitals typically run at capacity, without delta added on top. State governments run the hospitals and understand delta will easily overwhelm hospitals in under-vaccinated populations.

    Providing care to covid positive patients is resource intensive, facility wise and in materials and staff ratios, as well as being extremely emotionally demanding. Hospital workers then go home to their families, with their unvaccinated kids, and hope they don't pass it on.

    Politicising the pandemic with the cheap shots at politicians charged with looking after the lives of their populations ignores these realities. Yes, many small businesses are being crushed. There are no good choices. Kill people or kill businesses, guess the people have been spared, sort of.

    Andrew Mohl, not a doctor, acknowledges vaccines as the way out of this, as do the pollies.

    If any pollie deserves your scorn, it's the guy who was in charge of procuring the vaccines. And the AZ Phizer debacle has been a shambles.
