He was gone a long time ago.
It just took the catastrophe of last Thursday to spur them to announce it to make it look like they are being proactive instead of reactive.
I fully expect a similar ANN soon regarding the CEO who will, no doubt, be leaving for "personal reasons".
Yes, Mr Parker is well-regarded and the SP may well lift a bit on this news. But it's just a temporary fix. Damage control.
