Andrew Purcell has over 20 years' experience originating, structuring and funding innovative financial solutions across a wide range of deal types. He has lived and worked in Asia for the majority of this time and has arranged inbound, outbound and cross border transactions involving a number of different jurisdictions.
Prior to establishing Lawndale Group in 2005 (previously known as Teknix Capital) he was with the Credit Suisse Group. In Hong Kong he was responsibile for its Special Situations Group and before that, in Sydney, the regional office of its wholly-owned UK bank Credit Suisse Financial Products. During his 12 years with the Credit Suisse Group he undertook a number of important transactions, particularly for companies in the resource and financial sectors, and served as a member of the Australian Executive Committee.
Andrew also has considerable experience as a director of public companies, from which position he has driven financial and operational restructing to restore viability. Some of these include PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk (Indonesia), The Bangkok Mass Transit System PCL (Thailand) and Aokam Perdana Bhd (Malaysia). He has also established and been a founding general partner of a USD250 million private equity fund focussing on investments in the bulk commodity space and related infrastructure.
Other roles include being a director of ASX-listed AJ Lucas Group Limited where he also serves as Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Engineering (QUT) and a Master of Business Administration (UQ).
