Just a note to add to the above, yes you can convert them but you can also trade them.
i saw somebody mention a good way to convert if you don't have free capital to pay the .45c when you want to and have heaps of oppies. Get a loan, convert, then sell some to pay back the loan straight away. Free carry the rest, so to speak.
