If the major shareholders abstain, PB will be gone for good. I think they will, as they need to maintain relationships with the winners if they still believe in TNG.
The fact that PB is still fighting to stay makes me believe that:
- He does not have any guarantee from the major shareholders.
- He has more to hide and lose than just the 700k per year.
About Neil, I'm sure he wants to get a slice of the cake, but if he waits until 249D is over, and GW wins, he will not be invited to the party, as GW mentioned that he has higher caliber candidates in his recent Ask Me Anything.
So the easy solution is to side with PB. Nothing to lose but a lot to gain.
