I think if you replace the word "misunderstood" with the words 'falsely claimed' then you might have a more truthful statement.
The company'y auditors received $104k in 2017 and $73k in 2016 for taxation services and according to the company were engaged as experts in these matters, so I don't think that some two years later that the process had been misunderstood. The previous chair had also told the market in 2016 that the ATO had completed their audit subject to a few additional queries.
