I agree with most of your points AC88, except you neglect the fact we still need a functioning board.
Gasteen & Moore should have transitioned out as they are culpable from the SoA. Gasteen is a dead man walking.
Sarah was innocent and seems to be collateral damage, I feel for her.
In no way should Marty step down however. He appears to have correctly identified that RC was wagging the dog, and acted accordingly. He has been very open to communication with shareholders, and has good boardroom experience. He has had to deal with the hangover from the SoA and as far as I can see we could do a whole lot worse. He is a steady pair of hands on the wheel.
I like the idea that Leon is now on the board, and I think he's up for the job as CEO. But putting him up against real competition is appropriate, and it will give him a chance to prove his mettle if he has it. I'm crossing my fingers he comes through, but am not denying someone better may emerge.
The hangover and dramas from 2017 are not behind us, but after today they were moved further into the distance. There's plenty to be excited about in the future... NGP, Reserves, QLD CSG, Dukas and refinancing the debt so the gorilla (who is also our JV partner) standing behind us will have his big stick taken away.
