gold equivalence is where you convert the production of another metal into the production of gold for reporting purposes. For instance as an example - a company mined 100k Oz of gold and 20kT of Copper. You can convert how much the copper is worth into dollars then divide it by the price of gold. This gives you the worth of that copper in gold equivalent.
