i believe, based on my of course non professional and non expertise, that the HIO board and directors have little clue on the macro for the world and are likely months and months and maybe many more months slower than the reality. that is because I have seen a year to a year and a half ago, how they were completely flabbergasted and blind sided, and are only now coming out and claiming that they were quick on the ball.
well, in my perspective, and we know why we got smashed, its what happened with China and starting with their real estate issues, some will remember vividly like me, that was a trigger, and of course the actual root cause reason covid lockdowns/restrictions leading to self-induced low production
macro talk requires talk on macro, and on macro its how we obliterated our economy by shutting it down both in Australia and globally, that mean no production, which mean high inflation until that loss of production is recovered via higher prices / inflation. this is done and dusted now, all sides of every story are saying the inflation is finally starting to come to an end, and its not a presumptuous call, IMO its already been too long
chinese markets have already hit 50% below their all time high and are now rebounding, china and albanese according to a paper today or yesterday, is saying that China and Australia are back in talks, apparently there was no ministerial contact between Aus and China since 2016 when Scott M was in?? (lol)
game players and traders will look at china and see a fibonacci and start frothing, the USA Fed has started to reverse their rate rises, we now have wartime situation in play and decoupling/de-globalisation is already happening, that to the pleb will say dont put your money down, but to another it would scream opportunity, a new opportunity in every country, every country now needs to invent new industries on their own turf, a real opportunity for sure in my own guesstimates
