I guess in retrospect the wrong word was said.

It should have been "placed in voluntary administration" so the administrators could have the possibility of finding a group who could make the idea work.

Personally I still think banana stem veneer is a real possiblity and if certain persons would get out of the ******* way, a method of pressing and drying banana stem veneer could be developed and commercialised. Engineers I have spoken to seem to think it is a quite vialbe idea.
