Paying an independent expert doesn't "buy" time - the corps act sets out the time by which the company must release the TS and that time doesn't increase because you get an IE report. Additionally, the IE can't take into account details of any "deal" that hasn't been announced to the market when providing its recommendation.
Paying for a report is a waste of money and seems purely a director arse covering exercise.
Given the past history of this company (albeit with a different bod) im also very hesitant to read anything into actions
