I'm not sure whether or not there is an underlying reason for this change of FY. It may simply be that Christmas is the busy period, and usually in retail January is pretty dead. This gives them time to work out all the end of year accounts.
My personal opinion (it's an opinion only) is that a falling AUD is slightly negative in the IT distribution game. All goods are imported, and the falling AUD makes them more expensive thus in relative terms customers are less likely to fork out the $ since they are now paying more for a computer than they were a year ago. With that said, disties take that all in their stride. David has been in this game a long time and seems to be able to make things work where a lot of others can't.
Dicker has also just signed on to distribute LG screens, so while the progress may seem a little slow of late, they are continuing to kick goals IMHO.
