Your opinion re the AUD concurs with mine, I think the AUD goes up and down on a regular basis, but never more than 20-25%; but over the long term the continual fall in IT prices more than compensates for that. Short term though I think it would cause a small slowdown in retail and probably business IT spend.
I didn't know about the LG screen agreement - where do you find out information like that? It sounds like a good supplier to have in your kitbag.
As for the FY end, I don't really buy your line "it gives them time to work out the accounts". You could, however, argue that there is lumpiness in retail and business IT purchases and sales , but that lumpiness is less over Christmas (hence the quiet New Year) than it is over 30 June In which case why doesn't DD just say that?
I just hate it when I feel that decisions are being made (by anyone) and we're not being told the full story.
As a final point, I note that there are very few sellers out there right now, in fact an unscrupulous trader could drive the price up very quickly if they wanted to.
