Yeah, short-term the AUD falling can certainly put a damper on things but of course a lot of people don't care how much their IT costs - they just have to have the latest thing. I am not like that but plenty are, so that is nice to know in a way...
I am an IT Reseller and Dicker is one of my disties so this was announced in a marketing email. I imagine it would be considered fairly immaterial at this stage and they probably just think of it as an operational thing hence why it hasn't been announced to market. But as long as they are still making efforts towards growth (which I think they are) then that is good with me. Of course I am also in the fortunate position that whenever I gear from Dicker I know it's doing no harm to my investment.. ;-)
My feeling is that DD may also view the change of FY as an operational thing and therefore not worthy of further mention. My hope is that it is not for a nefarious reason at all (though of course some here certainly seem concerned that such a change must be negative). Companies make changes like that all the time for one reason or another. I have seen it a fair bit in the IT game. Not really sure why. Of course I may be too trusting of management, but at this stage I am happy not really to worry about it too much.
Yes, a trader could drive the price up, but I think most are sensible enough to realise that with the stock being so thinly traded they may well end up with a pile of shares averaged at $1.69 and with buyers only sitting at $1.62 it sort of defeats the purpose. It would be rather a gamble.
