Auditors have nothing to do with running the company or providing legal advise. Different offices with different staff service different clients so unless CSS & the company being sued are based in the same area then the audit staff being used will be different. Even if they were, a different partner would sign off on the audit.
The only information that the auditors would have exposure to is the amounts provided in the accounts by the company being sued & the basis of that provision, plus the insurance coverage the company has to offset any liability. Plus there's point that auditors aren't allowed to share information on clients with third parties etc.
None of that would help CSS win their case in court & any damages awarded would be decided by the courts.
