In any portfolio you can own companies which aren’t yet profitable, as long as your diversified and have a knowledge of the industry. Yes you have to trust management but it’s only one company.
FDV was loved by so many, many bought into it; l suspect some have zero idea that FDV had never made a profit (well up to a couple of years ago).
