No doubting the technical potential, and financial support offered by numerous development agencies specifically for geothermal in East Africa. Kenya is one of the current global geothermal development hotspots. All ignored by Australian ASX companies, and now they've missed the boat.
The problem is the tariff side, with populations unlikely to be able to pay full commercial tariffs without government subsidies. Long-term outlook is very positive, but be clear about who is paying.
