Well, RF had the record of building Saracen from $9Million market capitalisation to $6Billion in 8 years(I hadn't look into how he achieved that result and therefore the deduction from such an observation is questionable! He could have taken an original shareholding of 1million Sararen shares to 1billion shares and he may still get that kind of market growth with no growth in shareholder value!!).
One has to say that he is either extremely lucky or he had some management skill set that allow him to achieve that kind of result. Whether he can repeat the same with GMD is obviously open to question. My bet is that he had at least some skill set to ensure that GMD will grow.
However it should be noted that there is a huge premium embedded into the GMD share price based on his Saracen record and if he takes a mis-step, GMD share price will sink like a stone in a pond.
