Russia is going to undertake maintenance of the twin pipelines supplying gas to Europe. To do this maintenance the gas will need to be switched off. When you close off gas into a pipeline there is a risk that air(oxygen etc) will seep into the lines ... due to taps left on, cooktops, etc ..... that means that there will be potentially an explosive mix in all the lines. Therefore when the gas is turned back on all the lines need to be purged ...... consider the extent of that task over all of Europe. Industry will be asked to bear the brunt of the energy shut off .... how are the people going to earn money to buy food, pay rent etc. The EU is talking about forcing all member nations to share whatever LNG that they have between all member nations. This mess is only just starting to happen and will lead to energy rationing across Europe. MIN, NWE, STX, WGO, WDS and all other Gas rich companies are going to be well placed to benefit from the impending debacle so long as the new Australian Government can take its bias off and allow our projects to develop.
