Handing back $6 million of jobkeeper was a huge mistake. NSW stores will be closed until 80% double dose vaccination rates are achieved. Victorian stores, there is a strong rumour that lockdown will last until new year and that an announcement is imminent.
I saw that this was not over back in Febuary. The board by all accounts is very astute but that decision to hand back that money was wrong.
To have had $32 million cash in the bank instead of currently $26 million would have made a big difference providing a little more of a safety net.
Meanwhile Coles and the like get a free kick and it is noticable that in store at Coles I am seeing homewares such as bathroom towels and other stuff now for sale. Businesses such as Coles should have had their company tax rate increased to 40% from 30%. We are not all in this together with current settings.
