Not really comparing apples with apples though due to the different commodity mix. Currently AMI is primarily Gold/Zinc & Lead with a small amount of copper vs (from what I understand) Copper/Gold for AIS.
However there are a lot of similarities between the two miners. I don't have enough knowledge of AIS operations to give an opinion. Management and the Board would be a key factor to consider. (We lost points with Dargues!)
AMI currently has Macquarie and Ord Minnett broker coverage. I know Euroz Hartleys and Bell Potter covers AIS, who else? Perhaps a comparison from the same broker research would be reasonable if both were covered.
The March Quarterly results may be a good case study to look at. This could become a really interesting thread, keen to see others comment.
