Yes I noticed that SLR didn't really follow the price of gold much until June-July then it really went silly for a while and has since receded a bit. I am assuming the longer the offer goes on without a better offer appearing, the more likely that EGA holders start to think about accepting the offer. You're right - EGA shareholders would be certifiable to be selling at 28c on market today unless their house was actually on fire and they needed to buy a garden hose...
You make a good point that if SLR cant't get to majority or 90% ownership then they might have to send Rothsay ore to Deflector, at commercial rates, and that you expect this will create more value for EGA holders as opposed to holding SLR scrip.
