@vinn I agree with most of what you say but I believe that a large chunk of AW's success is derived from the creation of Thorney its self.
The fees that AW earns from the various funds are enormous, so much so that he is more than happy to invest in his own funds because he is the ultimate winner. The fees charged by Thorney's funds are criminal and I would never chose to invest in any one of them because of those fees, there are many funds with not only better fees but also better performance.
As for performance AW has had much success with some stocks picked yet most of the profit from those good picks, have been negated by many very poor picks.

My point being a word of caution for those that continually hear praise for AW and are maybe tempted to either invest in his funds or the stocks he picks like QFE.
