Major shareholders have been promised significant synergistic cost savings (office consolidations and job cuts) post the merger. The big broom (scythe really) is indeed being prepped for deployment! I have no doubt that structures are already being drawn up and the consultants already have a pretty good idea of where to start cutting the fat.
