That was actually a failure in design - the settings in the changeover system they use were not correct, and the tolerances too high. The DRUPS themselves have nothing to do with that.
This has happened many times before in data centres - and it is why the engineering needs to be carefully matched to the local conditions. It's a fault that is impossible to duplicate for commissioning, and so the protection settings need to be very well audited.
