Why does the right hand need to buy on market, when it is a very simple matter for the left hand to do it instead (just like a conjurer at the circus). Whether the shares are bought on market or via placement is irrelevant. The incentive and the means are there, but our ASX backwater does not have the governance or teeth of the SEC to police it.
