Hi all,This is only my second post on hc so just feeling my
way.The quiet accumulators are also known as Republic Coal
a Sydney based coal exploration and development co. Peter Doherty heads up this private co which has plenty of "credits" already including the sale of 37.5% of Baralaba (Cockatoo Coal)to the Japanese group JFE Shoji in 2010 for $150m approx. They also sold Bonshaw to Whitehaven Coal along with other "significant deals". These guys are the undisputed best coal people in Aust and it would seem that they recognise "value" whilst the market deems coal as out of favour in this bulk commodity downturn. Not sure why the market hasn't woken up to what is going on YET!! Also heard a whisper that they are looking to buy volume off market. In essence poorly informed investors are "gifting" their shares to the smartest coal boys going around. Wakey Wakey....
