The increase in substantial holdings notices (including this last one for IOOF) generally show quite a number of individual daily purchase lots to aggregate a substantial amount. With over a billion shares on issue these purchases could have come from many different smaller investor holdings (and organised through brokerage deals - notice how many trade at exactly the same time of day).
