Regardless of whatever arguments, one thing I am 100% certain is that if you and I ring CN, we'll get a certain amount of info and that's no going to be much (maybe just a little bit more) than what is announced.
If you say you want to buy 5% of a company and can prove it, I am 100% certain you'll get much more. Also, you probably wouldn't just ring over the phone either, like you and I would, but would be talking shop over lunch.
From FAR's view point, anyone who rings up and given some extra info, within 5 mins, it'll quite likely be all over HC. Do they want that? Not on your life, next thing you know, ASX is at their door steps; wheras, face to face discussion will minimise that sort of thing happening, and in any case, people with that sort of money do not behave irrationally (just look at the up and down ramps in HC) and broadcast things for all and sundry; so you can understand why more info flows at that level and sometimes confidential info are passed on.
