I was also surprised but my personal view is that he likes his influence and the things that have happened have secured his position in the shareholders list. He has a sizable investment if you add the loans as well.
I must say I would have been a lot more impressed if he had been issuing this statement in June when it was tanking. That takes a different breed I think.
It does however make it a more difficult task for a takeover that is hostile and in some ways that supports all of our agendas. So I just wonder if its something he just wanted to do or if he got a phonecall re his shares and decided to buy more in response to that. Who knows but hopefully it has mopped up any excess out there.
