If there isnt a large crossing today, then most likely the shorts will keep the pressure on until it can be forced into admin in the coming year.
With the shrinking global economy the large financials and certainly the banks can now make more money shorting companies than they can by lending to them so the easy targets are being picked off first.
Could be that the heavy hitter UBS has it's nose out about the capital raising and is going to make an example of Arrium. The Swiss forced BND into admin prematurely and they were heavily short. This might be the same play. Certainly the action is exactly the same - always forcing the lowest possible close to starve the company of future capital. I warned ASIC of their play one year before they brought the axe down on BND but ASIC took no action despite hundreds of days of marking the close. Shorts have been marking the close for a number of months now. No reason they cannot continue for another year.
Today is the big test.
