GDX is an index fund meant to reflect the NYSE Gold Miners Index GDM. NST must be a new addition to the index although I can't find anything to indicate this.
GDXJ is a stock pickers fund- big difference. The influence of these funds for better or worse will be significant if gold really gets going.
