I understand that, but what announcement could management make that would stop the rot? Unless something material has occurred, which would mean they would have to announce, anything else is window dressing.
What concerns me more is the effect of margin calls on these stocks. The big drops on some of the highly leveraged stocks places pressure on the lower leveraged stocks if a margin call is imminent. Until there is a some consolidation across the board, I am afraid the shorters and bears are going to rule, no matter what individual companies say.
The optimist in me believes they will get burnt when it turns.
