    Don't you think these big competitors can offer the saline injection version at a lower price point, and the airxpander at a higher price point? After all, then they are giving their saline injection tissue expanders a point of difference, as they would be an option on a spectrum. Also it allows the practitioner to decide which one they will push, along with having a less biased source of comparison.

    I think there is no going back for AXP - it is going to be taken over/JV, or fail to exist. It is a shame they have come to this realisation via a weak position, rather than a strong position. The good aspect is that there can be a bidding war, whether they JV or are taken over. On the other side, the likely interested parties can stand back and wait to see if it implodes financially first. I think the whole board should go, and also anybody that was standing in the way of cooperation with bigger players. I suspect that a player will arise shortly with the beginnings of a blocking stake at least, but I would think that, having bought this on the plunge.
