I may be able to help....RIM holdings was diluted after the dilution that took place from the conversion of notes on the 20th Aug. See their Ann dated 29th Aug
Following that to re balance the portfolio(you will note the latest SH notice now has them at very close to what they owned before they got diluted) they have obviously sort out to purchase a block of shares then needed to sell a few, 8m, for end of the 1/4 re balancing.
Really just end of 1/4 re balancing after being diluted from a conversion of notes during the 1/4 then selling a few extra's.....nothing to be to cynical about.
