It looks like predatory behavior to me. Borrow from anywhere they can, shake the tree for all the weak holders they can get, accumulate as many shares as they can for another entity while keeping a lid on the share price, then make a low ball take over offer.
If that scenario played out at these levels, any offer should be viewed by the board as opportunistic under the current market circumstances and rejected outright.
