Yeh, got my first lessons on the integrity of stock brokers and advice firms thanks to Mr Rivkin. Cost me a bucket when my instinct was to sell out of Pasminco but I held off because he said he was bargain and would recover. In the meantime, he was selling it on market. It went under a month or two later. An absolute scumbag is the nicest description I can ascribe to him.
Even a weak ASIC put some restrictions on his advice firm at that time. And of course there was Alpine Offset....
