A couple of possibilities ( sorry not able to log in to check for you) Are you looking at both ASX and ChiX volume combined? Look up chix after market / overnight volume trade - gets reported next day but pricing on many systems doesn't get reported as it shows open not overnight trades.? Go back and look at actual course of sales for that day to find out.
Gotta say it is never a good look to be executing trading that looks like wash sales or setting a market for window dressing near end of financial year but that is just my opinion as there is all sorts of valid reasons and being a trader is mark to market anyway
