Only about 2 % of MLX is shorted. That's peanuts compared to some stocks. Given the small number of Sn stocks and liquidity in them I wouldn't see it as a major issue for a fund manager who's being short across a number of metals. Anyway I would expect it to be one of those playing games on MLX's register an being used as a smoothing mechanism.
