The SPP was the lessor of $3.85 or VMAP of the last 5 days of trading less 2.5% discount.

On this basis, FM will be less inclined to smash EVN sp as they give a freebie back to retail investors. If you look at NST share price today, it closed ~3.7% down versus EVN's ~-2.4%.

The SPP provides a bit of a floor for EVN's share price in my opinion (though not 100% cover). For this reason, I don't think EVN will close the SPP early as it has the potential to shield them against some of the volatility in August.

This ofcourse depends on how much Gold gets smashed. I think it will be shorted until Wednesday when Fed provides another update - if Fed still says "no change" to their monetary stance I would expect a retracement like last month.

Lets see what happens....
