This isn't shorting in my opinion. Why would you do it for such a low cap stock with impending data release? Volume and market depth can't explain either. The volume also isn't indicative of a leaky boat.
It might be better explained by risk adjustment. I am invested in RCE bigtime (for me) and I suspect a lot of others are too. A poor result for the burns trial will see RCE sink faster than you can say "man the life boats". When the risk is high, you get paranoia and the resulted derisk desire might push the price lower for both the seller and the buyer. The cross-trade from Dr Melrose wasn't exactly confidence-enhancing. The paranoid trader might argue he gave to a family member and they are now selling them while the price is high. It is all about derisking the speculation.
I'm keeping my fingers off the sell button for the moment and have actually topped up. The burns data should be good. We know that Recce 327 is a small compound and is attracted to bacteria so should in theory be able to treat any bacteria residing in the burns wound bed, small compounds would usually be absorbed too so it may have a sub-wound effect too. We know it has a fast method of action and can't develop resistance. I'm confident we will see reduced sepsis and/or wound infection against controls. The question is, does it slow wound healing and did anyone stop the treatment due to adverse reaction?
A few weeks from now we shall know. Until then it is just speculation. Good luck to everyone.
