Regarding your first question, it's probably an error and the net result is that they sold 500k shares which sounds about right...
In answering number 2, they sold on the CHI-X and the ASX doesn't report CHI-X volume. If you are looking at COMSEC, you will notice that often the volume on the watchlist is the same as the chart/ trading activity volume (as its recorded on the ASX) .....but that volume is different to when you click into the buy-sell depth data volume which includes both CHI-X and ASX data.
FYI, hotcopper has the most accurate data of any broker/platform.
