I get the nuance and need for dialogue around a co-founder leaving a company, but the idea that someone exiting a project and selling shares is somehow an immediate red flag is such a tired trope.
Large entities increasing positions goes mainly ignored, yet, young person wanting to secure cash for years of effort they've made in a company they'll no longer (havent in effect for a while) direct along is harped on about. Makes HC sense lol.

Never left a company and sold ya equity before? Lol

Not everyone is in a position to even free ride shares when they have financial needs or capital for other projects.
