Sounds like we could be years away from seeing any meaningful increase in SP.
Not necessarily…
As I mentioned, Dicerna went through a very lean patch prior to commencement of its first human trial, with the market cap falling to as low as US$50m in early 2017. It then then rose on the back of advancing its clinical trials and striking licensing deals.
Dicerna filed its first clinical trial application in October 2017 (here). Just two weeks later it announced its first collaboration with Boehringer Ingelheim (see details here).
If you look here at the change to Dicerna’s market cap during 2017, you’ll see that, while it started the year at US$50m, it ended the year at US$460m. I call that a meaningful increase.
PYC now anticipates commencing its first clinical trial in 1H 2023 (stated in August 2021 update). The company has fallen well behind its 2H 2021 estimate stated in its August 2020 update. I’m sure that hasn’t helped the recent share price.
Noting the example of Dicerna, I wouldn’t rule out the potential for significant growth in the PYC share price over the next year as the first clinical trial draws nearer. Also flagged for this year on the news front, the company will add “new target tissues (CNS etc.) and new dimensions (specificity)” to its RNA modality. This has certainly sparked my interest.
