Very hard to say, just educated guessing exercise
probably a combination of factors. Lack of quality assets around above 1M ounces (seller), lots of buyers which need to show growth at any condition. Or perhaps it was part of a larger M&A strategy which include a nearby asset that if Combined create scale and good value creation….again in any of the potential scenario is definitely a good benchmark for BRB creating a lot of price support IMHO
