The economic geography of tin is basically that it is generally obtained from alluvial deposits formed from long gone mountains, and that most of these are exhausted or approaching that. The longer term supply side from the resources standpoint is the weakest of any metal. New discoveries in the badlands of upper Burma and the Congo have kept a bit of a lid on prices for about a decade, but even if they do continue a while, the output will be nowhere near enough to make all the electronics they are raving about.
