The complete lack of conviction these asset managers have is astounding. I feel that in the case of small-cap stocks, this constant moving in and out in the short term could arguably be classified as market manipulation given the lack of volume and the subsequent influence of any sizeable trade on price. While it likely allows them to get in at a lower price, the main beneficiaries of this kind of trading would be brokers and the ATO, not the people they're managing money for given the fees and tax implications. I'd like to see how their returns for clients compare to simply holding an index...
It'll be a good day when Perrenial no longer has this company on its books.
