Borrow: the borrower borrows shares from the custodian of the said shares to short sell. Borrow Return: They return the borrow shares to the original owner of the shares who lent them out in the first place....(presumably after buying them back on market for less than what they originally sold the borrowed shares for originally- and pocket the difference)
