Wow US$5.96 per Oz for Au, brutal for long-term existing shareholders, and have been watching this for a while. Interesting to see if the unsolicited advances are real, and who they are.

They are going to have to be supremely confident of operating in PNG, and have the ability to fund this without nervous nellie financiers/bankers or shareholders. I am thinking some sort of private equity and or Chinese Gold major might be the obvious candidates.

Sprott is here for the cheap ounces in the ground, locals and PNG government want this to happen and everyone knows the ounces are in the ground, all old incompetent management is mostly out of the way and now just a matter of funding and time to get the gold ounces out of the ground. Still high risk but kudos to those with the balls big enough to be buying here in this ultimate countercyclical/contrarian play.
