I don’t believe BHP is in breach, therefore I don’t believe MCR can simply terminate the offtake, and anyway how would that help shareholder here who you seem to be encouraging to hold out?
As for the Top 20 you posted, you are much smarter than me if you can deduce anything much through the shield of nominee holdings.
And as for any insto buying in after an offer at above the offer price, well that is simply a calculated gamble, and they are big enough to know to only gamble what they are prepared to loose, perhaps 5 million at 15 cents over the offer, well shy of $1mm, rather than the $20mm loss you were speculating on upsetting the boss with. Plus I am still guessing they got a lot quite cheap (hiding in one or more of the Nominee accounts).
